Succession: Presidency Reacts To Buhari's Meeting With APC Governors

The Presidency has alleged that some state governors are not been responsible enough in handling the issue of Coronavirus in their states, noting that the President Muhammadu Buhari‘s led administration has seized to give the states financial supports because most of them have prioritised receiving the funds over the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

The statement was made on a radio programme by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity.

Femi, however, makes clarification on why the federal government decided to give financial support to the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration of Lagos state to combat the killer disease in the state.

Adesina said; “The Federal Government-assisted Lagos State with N10 billion for its commitment and only because it was satisfied that the government of Lagos started on the right footing, rolling out proper plans and mobilising its fund to fight the pandemic.”

“Lagos State was only scouting for technical, manpower and facility supports, not financial support.

“The Buhari government felt obliged to lend a financial hand not because it was asked to, but because it was convinced it should.”

Meanwhile, the Presidential media aide, Femi Adesina, has explained earlier that the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is hale and hearty, adding that he has been carrying out all necessary activities required of his office.
