English Premier League side, Manchester City might still play in the UEFA Champions League even if the Court of Arbitration for Sport, upholds UEFA’s two-year ban on the Premier League champions.

CAS, on Wednesday, noted that the Premier League champions have lodged an appeal against their suspension for breaches of UEFA’s financial regulations.

However, CAS noted that it can not state when the matter will be resolved.

According to the Daily Mail, if the case exceeds June 1, City could find themselves playing in Europe’s top club competition.

The list of qualified clubs is expected to reach UEFA by June 3, as the draw for Champions League is carried out eight days after.

If the same happens for the 2020/2021 season, then City would be allowed to play in the competition if the appeal still remains unresolved by June 1.

This would, however, mean they would be banned for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 campaigns
