The President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has been accused by the Catholic Bishop of Adamawa Diocese, Stephen Manza, of performing woefully in protecting the lives and properties of Nigerians.

Bishop Manza called on the Federal Government to stop deceiving Nigerians about ending Boko Haram insurgents in the Northern region.

The Clergy who confirmed the killing of the Christain Association of Nigerian Chairman for Michika local government area of Adamawa State, Rev. Lawan Andimi, by Boko Haram insurgents called on the government to be more effective in protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.

Recall that President Buhari condemned the killing of the CAN chairman, the President described the action of the terrorist group as cruel, inhuman and deliberately provocative.

Manza in his position on the death of the CAN Chairman said, “Government should stop fooling Nigerians and tell them the truth of the security situation in the country.”

“Let no one be deceived. Boko Haram is still strong, who can travel between Michika and Maiduguri without using escort?”

The Adamawa state Chairman of CAN said, “It is unfortunate that Andimi was killed when negotiations were still ongoing to free the reverend gentleman even as at Sunday, January 19.”

“They sent a photo. There was a video but it is too gruesome to be shown” publicly, adding that the insurgents demanded £2 million as a ransom to free Andimi but only N50 million could be raised, which they still rejected.
