The Oyo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Ibadan will today (Monday) decide the actual winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election between Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and candidate for All Progressive Congress (APC), Bayo Adelabu. Adelabu went to court to challenge Makinde’s victory after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the winner as the winner of the elections.

2. Election Tribunal Rules On Gov Dapo Abiodun’s Qualification

The Ogun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal ruling on the preliminary objections has dismissed a petition by Hon. Adekunle Aknlade seeking the disqualification of Governor Dapo Abiodun. Naija News reports that Akinlade wants the Justice Yusuf Halilu-led tribunal to dismiss Abiodun on grounds of submitting false academic qualification.

4. Tribunal: Labour Party Withdraws Petition Against Governor Abiodun

The election petition appeal filed by the Labour Party against the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, at the Supreme Court has been withdrawn. According to the report, the Labour Party and counsel to the state Governor have decided to settle for an alternative dispute resolution.

5. Tribunal Confirms Tinubu’s Senatorial Victory

The Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Lagos has upheld the election of Senator Oluremi Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Lagos Central Senatorial Constituency. Naija News learned that the tribunal, in its judgment, held that “the petition lacked merit and is hereby dismissed. The declaration of Senator Oluremi Tinubu by INEC as the winner of February 23 National Assembly election is hereby affirmed.”

6. Tribunal Sacks Senate Spokesman, Declares PDP’s Olujimi Winner

The Ekiti State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal has sacked the Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Naija News gathered that the tribunal-led by Justice Danladi Adeck declared the former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the February 23 election in Ekiti South Senatorial District.

The election of Orji Uzor Kalu, the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, has been nullified by the National and State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal. Naija News reports that the National and State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abia State nullified Kalu’s election on Monday, September 9.

8. Tribunal Sacks APC Reps Member, Orders Rerun

The election that produced Hon. Kolapo Korede Osunsanya, was on Monday nullified by the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. Osunsanya was voted as the representative of Ijebu Central Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress.

9. PDP’s Ekwunife Defeats APGA’s Umeh Again

Senator Uche Ekwunife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defeated Senator Victor Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Naija News reports that Senator Ekwunife defeated Senator Umeh at the Anambra State Election Petition Tribunal on Monday, September 9.

10. Tribunal Sacks Delta PDP Senator

The election of James Manager, the lawmaker representing Delta South Senatorial district at the Nigerian Senate, has been nullified by the Delta State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal. Naija News reports that the judgment was given by the Chairman of the three-man panel, Justice E.I. Ngene on Saturday, September 7.
