Aliko Dangote, Africa’s leading industrialist and businessman has laid down his opinion on xenophobic attacks in South Africa as well as the retaliative attack by Nigerians.

Dangote has joined his voice with other Nigerians on Wednesday to encourage peace and unity in searching for a resolution to these attacks.

Naija News recalls that xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa have caused Nigerian youths to invade South Africa owned business in Nigeria.

Nigerians youths out of anger invaded and burnt Shoprite along Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos State.

While protesting, one of the protesters was shot by police guarding angry youths from causing more havoc at the Circle Mall, Jakande, Lekki, Lagos State.

The retaliation continued in Abuja as protesters invaded and destroyed Shoprite on Airport Road on Wednesday.

In response to the violent protest, Dangote stated on his twitter handle that he is against violent attacks by Nigerians towards South Africa owned businesses in Nigeria, thereby pleading with youths to stop the violence.

According to Dangote on his verified Twitter handle: “Our aspirations for a shared and sustainable prosperity can only be achieved when we live in peace and unity, shunning hate and any form of violent attack on African brotherhood.

“It is time for Africans to put Africa at the center of its own development, by harnessing our entrepreneurial and intellectual skills. Let us collectively shun hate and reprisal attacks.
