The Ondo State Police Command has arrested some suspects behind the killing of Mrs Funke Olakunri, the daughter of Afenifere chieftain, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
Naija News reports that the State Police Command, however, refused to disclose the identity of the suspects.
The Command spokesperson, SP Femi Joseph, told newsmen on Monday, that policemen were still in the forest to smoke out other suspects.
Joseph said the command would not relent until the perpetrators were apprehended and prosecuted.
Meanwhile, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun State, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to address Nigerians on his war plans to safeguard the life and property of all Nigerians in all states.
He made this known during a visit to Pa Fasoranti, whose daughter was killed by suspected herdsmen, in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Speaking, Oyinlola stated that the killing came as a rude reminder that the country was in terrible times.
“He (Buhari) needs to come out clearly now, address the nation, outlining clearly his war plans to safeguard the life and property of all Nigerians in all states. Nigerians want to hear him directly not through an aide or party chiefs. He is the one they voted for as Commander-in-Chief and not anyone else.”
“Government exists to protect lives and property; they do not exist to release condolence messages after each avoidable death as this,” Oyinlola said.
