Next Level: Buhari Finally Makes First Appointment

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday made the first official appointment of his second term since his inauguration on May 29, 2019.

A statement by the Director of Communications in the office of the Head of Civil Service, Wunmi Ogunmosunle, announced that Buhari has approved the re-appointed Ahmed Idris as the accountant-general of the federation.

Court Stops El-Rufai’s Religious Bill In Kaduna

A State High Court sitting in Kaduna State, northern Nigeria, has declared the Religious Bill recently passed by the former State House of Assembly as “illegal“.

Naija News reports that Justice D. Gwadah in the ruling, held that the plan by Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s led Kaduna State government to issue licences to the pastors of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) using the Religious Regulatory Bill is a “gross violation of their fundamental human rights, which guarantees freedom of association and freedom of religion”.

June 12: Obasanjo Has A Case To Answer Over Absence At Democracy Day Celebration – Presidency

The presidency has confirmed that it duly extended a letter of invitation to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to attend the 2019 maiden June 12 democracy day celebration which held at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

This was confirmed in a series of tweets on Wednesday by presidential media aide, Garba Shehu while explaining that the President Buhari administration was not to be blamed for Chief Obasanjo’s absence at the national event.
