Titus Uba Emerges Benue Speaker For The Second Time

The immediate Benue State House of Assembly, Speaker Titus Uba representing Kyan constituency has been re-elected for a second time.

The Deputy Speaker, Christopher Adaji, of Ohinmini State Constituency was also re-elected.

Naija news recalls that the speaker had earlier revealed that the Eighth Assembly passed 58 bills into law and adopted 62 major resolutions at a valedictory session to mark the end of the Eighth Assembly.

A member representing Oju II State Constituency, Joseph Okpanya, nominated Adaji.

After the election of the two principal officers and subsequent inauguration of members, the deputy Speaker moved a motion that sitting be adjourned till June 13. The motion was seconded by Bem Ngutyo of Tarka State Constituency.

Meanwhile, Governor Samuel Ortom had earlier inaugurated the ninth Benue State House of Assembly with a charge to members to carry out their duties effectively for positive impact on the lives of citizens.
