Police Invite Ihedioha, Others Over Kidnapping, Murder Allegations

In what seem to be an invitation to the already tense atmosphere of the arrival of the new Imo state Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, lawmakers in the State House of Assembly today, asked the Governor to use the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and other anti-graft agencies in recovering state “looted funds, government properties including government house generator which was carted away.”

They also asked the governor Ihedioha to suspend all board appointments including the promotion of permanent secretaries by the immediate past governor, Rochas Okorocha from March 2019.

Naija News recalls that the Governor had earlier lamented the difficulty in operating since his swearing-in as his predecessor refused to hand over officially to him.

The lawmakers also passed a motion indefinitely suspending the 27 Local Government Area Chairmen and Councillors.

The house directed the Directors of Local Government Administration of the 27 LGAs to take over from the suspended LGA chairmen.

The speaker, Chinedu Offor, who presided over the plenary directed the clerk of the House, Chinelo Emeghara, to convey the resolutions of the House to the state governor.
