Five Vigilante Killed In Fresh Katsina Attack

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the killing of five members of the local vigilante by bandits in Faskari Local Government Area of the State.

This was made known in a statement on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isa.

According to Isa, the killings occurred at Sabon-layi village when members of vigilante group popularly called “Yan sakai” entered into a forest and engaged the bandits in a fight.

However, the vigilante members were killed by the bandits during the exchange of fire.

SP Gambo Isa also disclosed that the police search team led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area evacuated the corpses and discovered a bandits camp inside the forest that was abandoned by the criminals.

He said the Nigeria Police have commenced a manhunt to arrest the fleeing bandits.
