Ronaldo Overtakes Pele, Tops World Goalscoring List

Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo pulled up clutching his thigh in Portugal’s 1-1 draw with Serbia on Monday night.

Ronaldo’s side was trailing behind to Dusan Tadic penalty when he pulled up with the injury.

After receiving treatment, he eventually hobbled down the tunnel and was replaced by Pizzi.

Despite the absence of their star player, Portugal managed to level the scores, after a stunning strike from Danilo Pereira, making them share the points with the visitors.

Juventus will take on Ajax in Amsterdam in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on April 10. However, Ronaldo has no fears that he will miss the match.

“My injury? I’m not worried,” Metro UK quoted him as saying after the match.

“I know my body and in two weeks’ time I’ll be ready to play again.”

That time frame given by Ronaldo would see him return just in time to face Ajax, though he would miss Serie A games against Empoli, Cagliari and AC Milan.
