1. Why President Buhari’s election victory won’t last – Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki has said President Muhammadu Buhari’s “purported victory” in the February 23 presidential election would not last.

Saraki, who was the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, made this known at the opening session of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Wednesday in Abuja.

2. PDP holds emergency NEC meeting

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday, held an emergency National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.

The meeting, which was initially fixed for noon, was delayed because of the trip of members of the National Working Committee to Rivers State.

3. Jimi Agbaje breaks silence on dumping PDP for APC

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, in March 9 governorship election in Lagos state, Jimi Agbaje, has denied dumping the party as speculated in some quarters.

Naija News reports that rumours emerged on Tuesday night, suggesting that Agbaje, who lost the governorship election to Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party had dumped the PDP.

4. Saraki signs Senate version of new minimum wage bill

Senate President Bukola Saraki on Wednesday signed the National Minimum Wage Bill, 2019 (SB 722) as passed by the Nigerian Senate.

As earlier reported by Naija News, the Senators had earlier on Tuesday, adopted the N30,000 figure as the proposed new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

5. Buhari cannot give what Nigerians deserve, Obasanjo explodes

Former Nigeria’s President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has again hit at the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying “Nigeria deserves better, at this point in time than what Buhari is capable of offering”.

Naija News reports that this is the first time the former President will attacking President Buhari after his victory at the polls.

6. Atiku says he defeated Buhari by 1.6m votes

Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari lost the presidential polls by about 1.6 million votes.

Atiku and the PDP reportedly made the submission in the petition filed before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja on Monday, to challenge APC and Buhari’s victory.

7. PDP threatens to stop Buhari’s inauguration

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, has rejected a court order stopping the collation of pending results of the governorship election in Bauchi state, northern Nigeria.

Apparently displeased with the order, PDP threatened to obtain similar ones stopping the swearing in of all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) “particularly President Muhammadu Buhari”, describing the order as “unconstitutional”.

8. APC accuse PDP, Atiku of hacking INEC’s server

The Peoples Democratic Party and its Presidential candidate in the February 23 has been accused by the deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Yekini Nabena of hacking into the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Nabena stated this while reacting to the statement by PDP claiming that Atiku Abubakar won the 2019 election from what is seen the commission’s server.

9. Enugu based prophet accuses Nnamdi Kanu of collecting money from Atiku

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has been accused by an Enugu based Clergyman, Anthony Nwoko.

Nwoko in his statement claimed that the Biafra leader collected money on the eve of the Presidential election from the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.

10. Tinubu denies planning to rig Kano rerun elections

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has denied visiting Kano to influence Saturday’s supplementary elections in favour of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

This was made known in a statement by his Media Adviser, Tunde Rahman and obtained by Naija News.
