1. APC governors visit Buhari in Daura

The Governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have visited President Muhammadu Buhari at his hometown in Daura, Katsina State .

President Buhari told the delegation that his administration is committed to fulfilling its campaign promises made in 2015.

2. Ajimobi promises to compensate Ayefele over Fresh FM demolition

In a bid to resolve  the crisis created by the demolition of the Music House housing Fresh FM radio by the Oyo State government, the chairman of the radio station, Dr Yinka Ayefele met with Governor Abiola Ajimobi at the Agodi Government House.

The two-level peace meeting, was reportedly facilitated by a top governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Joseph Tegbe.

3. Uduaghan reveals he is under pressure to dump PDP for APC

Former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Udaughan, has finally confirmed that he may dump the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress.

The former governor said there was pressure on him to come to APC, but it was not an affair of the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

4. Opposition can’t stop APC from moving Nigeria forward

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that the efforts of defectors and their sponsors in the
opposition will not distract his adminstration from it efforts to develop and reposition Nigeria for greater prosperity.

While speaking in Daura on Thursday, President Buhari declared that with the full support of Nigerians, the All Progressive Congress (APC) has fashioned a way to deal with the numerous problems confronting the country.

5. APC says it has not released time table of its primaries

The All Progressives Congress APC has described as false, the news flying around that it has released the timetables for State House of Assembly, National Assembly, Governorship and Presidential primaries.

The party made this known in a statement on Thursday by the Acting National Publicity Secretary Mr. Yekini Nabena.

6. Lagos third mainland bridge to be closed for three days

The third mainland bridge in Lagos would be closed to all forms of traffic for three days effective from midnight of today (Thursday).

The temporary closure of the 11.8-kilometre bridge is to allow contractors investigate the true state of the bridge ahead of planned full repairs.

The bridge would be closed to traffic from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th, August 2018.

7. Senator Adeleke dragged to court again over SSCE result

The candidacy of Sen. Ademola Adeleke as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer in the Sept. 22 governorship election, has once again been challenged by two party members in Osun state.

The suit filed by Mr. Oyetunji Suredi and Mr. Olagboye Adedamola is seeking an interlocutory injunction restraining Adeleke from parading himself Osun PDP candidate over alleged forged school certificate.

8. Buhari rules out return of Daura as DSS boss

President Muhammadu Buhari has ruled out the reinstatement of sacked Department of State Services (DSS) Director-General Lawal Daura.

The president was away on vacation in London when Daura was sacked by Osinbajo as DSS boss.

9. Bolaji Abdullahi joins Kwara governorship race

Former National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has joined the governorship race in Kwara State. He will run under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Dr. Muyideen Akorede, announced Abdullahi’s declaration of intent to contest in the governorship election.

10. President Buhari to present 2019 budget in September

The federal government has hinted that President Buhari would present the 2019 national budget to the National Assembly when they reconvene.

The Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, who disclosed this, explained that it was in a bid to restore the January to December budget cycle.
