Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has appointed Earl Osaro Onaiwu as his liaison officer on state matters.
Naija News learnt that the appointment was announced in a statement by Mr Saraki’s media aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu.
The short statement described the 59-year elder statesman as an experienced politician.
“Onaiwu, an experienced politician and public administrator will help to coordinate the relationship between the Office of the Senate President and the various state governments across the country,” the statement reads.
The Senate recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress and has faced calls from the party to step down from his position. Mr Saraki has rejected such calls.
