Father Arrested For Sleeping with daughter for eight years

Julius Ochim, 45, has been arrested for impregnating his daughter (name withheld) who had a baby girl for him, the Ogun State Police Command says.

The Sagamu Divisional headquarters of the command effected the arrest of the father after the daughter reported her alleged abused by his father to the division.

According to Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, the victim said that the father have been having sex with her since 2009 after the death of her mother.

“She further revealed that her father used to threaten her with a cultural implication of refusing to sleep with him.” he said.

Oyeyemi added that the victim told the police that she conceived and gave birth to a girl who is now three years old during the process of continues abuse by the father.

The Command spokesperson stated that on receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Sagamu, Aduroja Moses, led detectives to the residence of the suspect where he was arrested.

“He confessed to have been sleeping with the girl since the demise of his wife and that he started having problem with the girl when she started going out with another person whom she said she wanted to get married to.” he said.

Oyeyemi added that the suspects also employed tactics to ensure that his daughter remained unmarried in order to continue to have his way on her.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has directed that the suspect be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
