1. Court orders National Assembly to impeach President Buhari

A Federal High Court, sitting in Osogbo has ordered the immediate commencement of the impeachment process against President Muhammadu Buhari.

Justice Maurine Adaobi Onyetenu gave the order today based on the suit filed on the 19th of June, by two Nigerians, Kanmi Ajibola, a lawyer and Sulaiman Adeniyi.

2. New faction emerges from APC

A new faction in the All Progressive Congress (APC) has emerged, formed by aggrieved members of the new Peoples Democratic Party known as the Reformed-All Progressives Congress (R-APC).

In a press conference at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja, the new group named Alhaji Buba Galadima as its National Chairman, Dr. Fatai Atanda (Oyo State) as National Secretary and Kazeem Afegbua (Edo State) as National Publicity Secretary.

3. Better to give land for cattle ranching and stay alive – Presidency

The Presidency has charged Nigerians and state governments to reconsider their stand on the creation of cattle ranches across the country, noting that they are better off living with the ranches than dying through avoidable attacks and killings.

Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, made the statement while speaking on an AIT programme in response to a question on ancestral attachments to land.

4. Governor Tambuwal fires all Sokoto state commissioners

The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal fired all his commissioners and asked them to hand government property to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.

In a statement, the Director General Media and Public Affairs in Government House, Malam Abubakar Shekara, announced the dissolution of the executive council.

5. Buhari’s body language encouraging killings – Lamido

A 2019 presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Sule Lamido, has pointed President Muhammudu Buhari as the cause of the incessant killings across the country.

According to him, the president’s body language of hate was what gave rise to wanton killings, armed banditry and kidnapping in some states of the country.

6. WAEC releases 2018 SSCE results

The West African Examination Council (WAEC), has released the results of candidates that sat for the 2018 WASSCE.

Candidates can now access the results on the result checking portal of the examinations body.

7. Why the military has not arrested Miyetti Allah

Acting Director Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. John Agim, has stated that the military will arrest the leadership of Miyetti Allah and their sponsors if investigations shows that they had a hand in the killings in Benue State.

Agim, made this known in Makurdi, while he was reacting to allegation by the leadership of Miyetti Allah that its members and cows were killed by the military in Nasarawa State.

8. Senator Abaribe speaks on his experience in DSS custody

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, has described his experience in the custody of the Department of State Services, (DSS) for allegedly sponsoring the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as unfortunate.

Abaribe said during his four days period of detention he met Gabriel Suswam, former governor of Benue state who according to him was arrested three days before him.

9. FEC approves N206b for 12km 2nd Niger bridge link road

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a contract for the construction of a 12 kilometre link road for the Second Niger Bridge worth N206 billion.

The contract awarded to Julius Berger will come with associated infrastructure.

10. Court orders EFCC to produce Innoson boss, Innocent Chukwuma

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday has been ordered by Justice Olusola Williams of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, to produce the chairman of Innosson Motors Limited, Innocent Chukwuma in court for arraignment.

The continuous absence of Chukwuma in court, to face forgery charges preferred against him by the EFCC, has instigated the Justice to give the order.
