Dino Melaye: IGP Ibrahim Idris To Appear Before Senate Today
Senate Set To Grill IGP Ibrahim Idris Today
The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, is expected to appear before the Senate on Wednesday (today), where he is expected to answer questions from the lawmakers on the arrest, detention and hospitalisation of Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West.
Recall that as earlier reported by Naija News, the police chief was expected to appear before the senators to brief them on the circumstances surrounding Melaye’s arrest as well as other security challenges in the country, but he didn’t show up as he was on President Muhammadu Buhari’s entourage on his official visit to Bauchi State.
He however sent a representative in the person of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Operations), Mr. Joshak Habila, a move which didn’t go down well with the lawmakers who refused the IG’s representative from representing his boss.
The Senators thereafter, rescheduled the IG’s appearance to Wednesday (today).
