Dignitaries, Including President Mahammadu Buhari, and 22 other Governors graced the marriage ceremony of the daughter of the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Fatima and the Son of Governor Abiola Ajumobi’ Idris in Kano on Saturday.
The ceremony which took place at the Kano Centre Mosque was officiated by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
This Day Live reports that the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who stood as the groom’s representative, paid the sum of N50,000 as dowry, while President Muhammadu Buhari, who stood as the representative of the bride’s father, accepted the bride price in line with Islamic injunction.
Naija News gathered that Kano State was brought to a standstill as well wishers from all part of the country throng the venue of ceremony to witness it.
While advicing the couple the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II said “Marriage is a very important institution in the society. Allah has directed every Muslim adult who is gainfully employed or has a means of livelyhood to marry a woman he loves and the two, start up their home in love and harmony”.
