Four Arrested Over The Attack of Lagos Environmental Officials

The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) has arrested and charged to court, four individuals over claims of attacking officials.

The LAGESC Corps Marshal, Mr Daniel Isiofia, on Wednesday stated that the officials were ambushed while performing their lawful obligations.

Isiofia revealed that the assailants had attacked the officials on Tuesday at Brown Street area of Oshodi while the workers were on their way to enforce the ban on the illegal dumping of refuse and street trading.

Naija News gathered that two LAGESC officers identified as Olasilola John and Haastrup Ifealuwa, were severely injured while a Black Maria used as an operational vehicle was vandalised.

The accused were arrested in an early morning operation carried out by LAGESC officials, following which they have been arraigned before the Special Offences Court sitting in Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos.
