Diezani to forfeit another $4.76m houses to the federal government

EFCC Breaks Silence On Dropping Corruption Charges Against Diezani

-Court orders temporary forfeiture of two choice properties in Lagos state belonging to Diezani Alison-Madueke to the federal government.

-The former minister is alleged by the EFCC to have obtained the houses through fraudulent means. 

Diezani looses two houses valued at $4.76m to the federal government.

A Federal High Court, sitting in Lagos state, on Tuesday ordered the temporary forfeiture of two additional properties in Lagos allegedly belonging to former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The value of the properties, are put at $4.76m according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The houses listed by the EFCC are Penthouse 21, building 5, Block C, 11th floor, Bella Vista Estate, Banana Island, Ikoyi and Penthouse 22, Block B, Admiralty Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Mr. Anselem Ozioko, counsel to the EFCC, , claimed the anti-graft agency have reasons to believe the identified properties were acquired with proceeds of alleged unlawful activities of Diezani.

Justice Mojisola Olatoregun ordered the temporary forfeiture of the properties after entertaining an ex parte application by the EFCC counsel.

Those listed as defendants on the face of the court papers are Diezani, Donald Amagbo, Schillenburg LLC, and Sequoyah Property Limited, as respondents.

Recall that barely two months earlier, based on orders issued by Justice Abdulaziz Anka, the same Federal High Court ordered the permanent forfeiture of 58 houses linked to the former minister.

The houses are located in various axis of Lagos and Port Harcourt.

Diezani Alison-Madueke, is currently in the United Kingdom, where is equally being investigated for alleged corrupt practices.

Hearing continues on her case on the 15th of December, 2017.
