Biafra: I am entitled to $800m compensation from FG – Nnamdi Kanu

The leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has maintained that he is still entitled to $800m compensation from the Federal Government for allegedly being unlawfully arrested in 2015 and detained.

Kanu made the assertion through his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, in a response to the motion filed by the Federal Government requesting the Community Court of the Economic Community of West African States sitting in Abuja to dismiss a fundamental human rights enforcement case filed by Kanu.

Herdsmen allegedly kill 11 in Plateau state

About 11 persons have been attacked killed allegedly by herdsmen at Diyan junction, in Rim District, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The killings, occurred in the late hours of Tuesday, resulting in the death of nine persons who died on the spot, with two others passing after getting to the hospital. However, three other individuals are in a critical state, Daily Sun reports.

Chaos in Adamawa as Herdsmen allegedly sets 2 communities on fire

Panic has engulfed two communities of Lawaru and Dong in Demsa, Adamawa State.

The communities are said to be currently being attacked allegedly by Fulani herdsmen, who have set the towns ablaze.

The attack comes after widespread speculations that suspected Fulani herdsmen were in the area, on Sunday night.

Insurgency: There is no cause for alarm on speculated terrorist attacks – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed has advised Nigerians to stay calm as he dismissed rumours of a speculated attack on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and other areas.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser Segun Adeyemi, Mohammed said: “There is no cause for alarm despite the latest travel advisories by some Western countries.
