-Nigerians are eagerly waiting for PDP – Jerry Gana

Jerry Gana says Nigerians are tired of APC

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jerry Gana has stated that Nigerians are fed up of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gana expressed his opinion on Monday at a consultative meeting between Tunde Adeniran, a candidate for the PDP chairmanship position, and the party’s north-west delegates.

Gana confidently claimed that Nigerians are “eagerly waiting” for the former ruling party, PDP to put the party in order ahead of the 2019 presidential election.

He said: “Nigerians are tired of the APC and they are eagerly waiting for us (PDP) to put our house in order,” he said.

“Agreed we have made mistakes during our 16 years of reign in government but we have learned our lessons and we are telling Nigerians that we are sorry.”

Speaking in support of Adeniran, who is the former information minister, the chieftain said: “We must restore the confidence of people by electing credible people, people who have integrity, people that will be bold enough to stand up against the APC and not people that would be harassed by the EFCC.”

Meanwhile, the ruling APC last week lost the membership of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, a high ranking chieftain prior to his exit.

Atiku had disclosed in an interview with the Voice of America in September, that “soon after the formation of government, I was side-lined.”

The former VP is yet to announce the party he would be willing to decamp to.

However, over the weekend, he had meetings with leaders of the PDP during the weekend.

Also, a PDP chieftain Bode George has called on Atiku to return to the PDP, a party to which the former VP once belonged.
