Evans request release on Bail

Evans’ application was filed during the resumed hearing of trial on conspiracy and kidnapping at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, today, Friday.

The suspected kidnapping kingpin also requested that his case to be given an hastened hearing.

However, the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, Titilayo Shitta-Bay, countered Evans bail application.

Boss Mustapha: Don’t call me “Your Excellency”

Naija News recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari swore Mustapha in as the new SGF before the start of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Following the handover of documents from the outgoing Acting SGF, Dr Habiba Lawal later on Wednesday, he requested not be addressed with ‘Your Excellency’, in any capacity.

PDP owns Buhari’s government, says Lamido

A former ​governor of ​Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, says President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government is owned by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Lamido who is a PDP presidential aspirant, said this in an interview with Premium Times.

He said “I am not being critical, but if you analysed what is going on today, compared to three years ago, you can see the concern in Nigeria.​”​

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has openly declared interest in contesting the 2019 presidential position.

The All Progressives Party chieftain, made his declaration known via a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday night.

Atiku described himself as qualified and with the necessary vision and experience to run the affairs of Nigeria.

Police arrest publishers printing materials for IPOB

The Anambra State Police Command on Thursday raided a printing press in Onitsha and effected the arrest of two suspects accused of printing materials for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The operatives recovered thousands of printed pamphlets which they alleged the IPOB members were planning to distribute in order to cause apprehension during the November 18 gubernatorial election in Anambra state.

Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, on Thursday alleged the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government was depriving his state of funds.The governor lamented at the Uyo Township Stadium during the presentation of flags to the 31 PDP chairmanship candidates for the December 2 council polls.
