On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, and Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari, alongside Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch of Morocco, watched the World Cup semi-final match between France and Morocco.

Recall that President Buhari departed Nigeria last Sunday for the United States capital, Washington DC, to attend the United States-Africa Leaders Summit.

He joined other African leaders for the week-long event in the US capital. However, the world leaders on Wednesday took time to entertain themselves by watching the ongoing world football tournament in Qatar.

Commenting on the moment, Biden, in a post on his official Twitter handle, wrote: “It was a great honour to watch today’s World Cup match alongside Prime Minister Akhannouch of Morocco.

“No matter who you’re rooting for, it was remarkable to watch how much this team has been able to achieve.”

Meanwhile, President Buhari’s aide, Bashir Ahmad, had earlier taken to the microblogging platform to share a photo showing the moment Biden and his principal, and others were watching France Vs Morocco match together.

He captioned: “President Muhammadu Buhari alongside President Joe Biden of the United States, Prime Minister Akhannouch of Morocco and other leaders while watching tonight’s World Cup semifinal match in Washington DC.”
