Breaking: Gunmen Attack Rivers PDP Campaign Chairman’ Residence

The residence of Senator Lee Maeba located in GRA, Phase 3 axis of Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Thursday was attacked by gunmen.

Maeba is the chairman of the presidential campaign council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.

A source that spoke with Punch on the incident said the gunmen came from a nearby street, shot sporadically at his entrance, and eventually broke into the former Senator’s compound.

A further report has it that the hoodlums destroyed about five cars, including a jeep.

The incident saw three persons in the compound, including Senator Maeba’s relative scampering for safety.

At the time of filing this report, operatives of the Department of State Services and policemen along with the Senator had returned to the residence.

G5: They Are Planning To Go After Wike – Rivers Releases Document Containing Blackmail Plot By PDP Group

The Rivers State Government has alleged there is a plot by a group in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to blackmail Governor Nyesom Wike over the agitation by the G-5 governors.

The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Chris Finebone, who descibed the group as faceless individuals, displayed some documents to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Thursday which allegedly bore the plot to blackmail the governor.

Finebone dared the group to reveal whom they are as the state government is ready and capable of responding to them adequately.

The commissioner insisted that despite the scheme from Wike’s enemies, the G5 governors still remain undeterred in their cause and would continue to stand their ground.
