Former Zamfara Senator, Yushau Anka Is Dead

Alhaji Yushau Anka, the former Senator that represented Zamfara West Senatorial District in the National Assembly is dead.

The former lawmaker passed on in an Abuja hospital around 1am on Tuesday following a heart problem.

He died at the age of 70, Naija News understands.

The death was confirmed by the brother of the deceased, Alhaji Sani Anka, who disclosed that funeral prayers for the late Senator would hold by 1pm today at the National Mosque, Abuja.

Anka was in the Senate between June 1999 to May 2007. During his time in the Chamber, he was appointed as Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Foreign Affairs, Police Affairs.

He also served as the Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Commerce, Internal Affairs, and Government Affairs.

Though elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in 1999, Anka defected to the then opposition All Nigeria Peoples Party for his second term in office.
