WTO DG: Buhari Reveal His Plans To Ensure Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s Victory

President Muhammadu Buhari has again reassured his commitment to ensure that Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala emmerge as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization.

According to the president in a post on his verified Twitter account on Monday night, October 12, he will seek support from world leaders on behalf of the former minister, adding that he will give what ever it takes to ensure her victory.

He tweeted; “We will do all that we can to ensure that @NOIweala emerges as the Director-General of the WTO. She deserves this. I will continue to seek support from world leaders on her behalf. Whatever phone calls need to be made, whatever letters need to be sent, I will do it.”

In another news, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the dissolution of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), a unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Naija News reports.

The party, however charged the president to also “take immediate steps to completely overhaul and restructure the entire police architecture to engender professionalism, adherence to rule of law and respect for the fundamental rights of Nigerians”.
