President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday during budget Presentation at the National Assembly, noted that NASS will be funded with N128 billion in 2021.

Buhari while speaking admitted that the Nigeria Government spends more on recurrent expenditure.

He further stated during the budget presentation that personnel cost is still the largest component of budget expenditure.

Buhari added that ghost workers and unauthorised allowances introduced by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies are to be blamed for the expenditure.

He took the opportunity to call on MDAs to get approval before any recruitment.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, had earlier stated that the National Assembly will pass the 2021 Appropriation Bill before the end of 2020.

The National Assembly is ready to pass the 2021 budget before the end of the year, by the grace of God,” Lawan said.
