President Buhari Appoints New Chairman, Members For NBC Board (Full List)

Bashir Tijjani Babajo has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Operations, Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC).

President Muhammadu Buhari confirmed his appointment in a letter with reference number SH/COS/42/3/A/988 signed by his Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari on Thursday, August 27.

Naija News understands that Babajo’s four-year term took effect from August 1, 2020.

Also, Philip Ashinze was reappointed as the Executive Director, Finance and Administration effective August 1, 2020, the letter noted. His approval was conveyed to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Muhammad Nanono.

Addressing the two appointees, Nanono charged them to ensure the continuous implementation of NAIC’s mandate in accordance with extant laws and other subsisting rules and regulations. He admonished them to ensure the discharge of their duties by also working with all stakeholders to allow harmony in the agricultural sector.

NAIC was established to provide agricultural risks insurance cover to Nigerian farmers, Naija News understands.
