African Union reacts to Mugabe’s resignation.

Alpha Conde, the president of Guinea and current chairperson of the African Union, has commended former Zimbabwe’s President, Robert Mugabe over his resignation as the country’s president.

Conde described Mugabe as a great fighter, but lamented how he was forced out of office.

“It is a shame that he is leaving through the back door and that he is forsaken by the parliament,” Conde said.
