Falana Speaks On Dakolo-Fatoyinbo Rape Saga

Human right activist and legal luminary, Femi Falana (SAN), has explained his role in the rape allegation levelled against the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo.

It will be recalled that celebrity photographer, Busola Dakolo had alleged that Pastor Fatoyinbo raped her about 20 years ago.

Explaining his role in the saga, Falana revealed that he only prevailed on the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to take up the investigation of Dakolo’s complaint.

This, Falana said while responding to speculations that he is now the lawyer to the Dakolos in the rape case against Fatoyinbo.

He explained in a text message to Vanguard yesterday, that: “Timi and Mrs Busola Dakolo wrote their petition before contacting us. When they met us, they expressed the fear that their petition might not be investigated. We intervened by requesting the police authorities to investigate the complaint. The IG has already granted the request.”

Naija News recalls Timi Dakolo, Busola’s husband had cried out last week that their lives were in danger, after police operatives stormed their residence to drop an invitation for questioning in a manner the police authorities said it would have to investigate.
