Armed Men Storm Timi Dakolo's Residence

Nigerian Singer, Timi Dakolo says he and his family are under threat following the rape allegation against Biodun Fatoyinbo, the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA.

Fatoyinbo, however, denied the allegation affirmatively that he has never raped a woman before, even as an unbeliever.

In respect to this, the Nigerian police force sent a letter of invitation to Timi Dakolo and wife for questioning.

Naija News had earlier reported that Timi Dakolo raised alarm via his Instagram page that there were armed men in a white bus at his house which depicts a threat to the life of his family.

Timi Dakolo stated in a press conference on Sunday 21st July 2019 that the situation got rather worse at this point because the public is aware of their residential address.

“I have noted with increasing alarm, how my life, my wife’s life and the lives of our children have been put at risk by unscrupulous persons.

He further explained the rate of insecurity his family is into:

“We have been followed, our home has been watched, people have been standing in corners pointing fingers at our home – we have been unable to do any work; the children have had to be explained to several times why they cannot go outside and play.

He said that before the arrival of the letter, he and his wife had visited the police station.

“The AGP personally assigned the file and personally asked for an expedition action to investigate the case. This was before the YNaija video was released.

“We had since been to the police station on several occasions on the invitation of the police to respond to various questions in the course of the investigation”

He showed displeasure on why pastor Biodun has not been called in for questioning ever since the case started despite their effort and allegation :

“We were therefore shocked to have been invited to Abuja when no visible action was taken to interview Mr Fatoyinbo.

“As far as we know, Mr Fatoyinbo has not been questioned on the strength of my wife’s petition even after several invitations by the police,”

Dakolo stated that his lawyer told him both their petition and that of Pastor Biodun has been moved to Lagos.

“We have never threatened anyone on our lives. Rather, we are now the ones who feel threatened. That is why we have Falana & Falana Chambers representing us and they have reported this matter to the police.

“We receive the information from our lawyers, Falana & Falana Chambers, this morning that both our petition and the petition of Mr Biodun Fatoyinbo will be moved to Lagos.

He finally commended the Nigerian Police Force of their effort:

“We acknowledge the effort of the Nigeria Police to ensure that our confidence in their impartiality, professionalism and good sense, in this case, is not shaken”. He concluded.
