Why Abia, Imo, Ondo States Should Be Removed From NDDC - Edwin Clark

Ahead of the February 16 elections, elder statesman and Ijaw leader, Edwin Clark, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has done nothing for the people of the Niger Delta since winning the 2015 presidential election against Goodluck Jonathan.

Clark while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, stated that South-south geopolitical zone has been marginalized for too long.

He said;

“President Muhammadu Buhari has done nothing for the Niger Delta. Rather, they are taking everything from us. No appointments, no developments.

“We in the Niger Delta produce the resources that feed this country, but we are not participants. We are neglected, dehumanised, marginalised.

“Instead of moving forward, we are moving backwards.”

The elder statesman claimed that the only solution to Nigeria’s survival and development is restructuring, so the candidate with the ideology will be endorsed.

Clark stated that about 17 presidential candidates were met with before the decision was taken, he revealed that all were questioned about their position on the issue of restructuring and Atiku Abubakar’s take on the matter.

He revealed that the President had been questioned on the same issue but says he (Buhari) does not believe in the idea of restructuring.

“Buhari said he does not believe in restructuring,” Clark said.
