‘I Will Do Everything Possible To Make Opposition Parties Strong’ – Peter Obi

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) 2027 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has opined that if he were the Nigerian president, he would do everything possible to strengthen opposition parties and make them participatory in governance.

Naija News reports that Peter Obi made this known during an interview with media entrepreneur, Chude Jideonwo.

Peter Obi said it is the responsibility of politicians and political parties to bring the country and other ideas together to work for the interest of the citizens.

When asked whether President Bola Tinubu believes his own party is the strongest party to rescue the country, the former Governor of Anambra State said that no single party has a monopoly on the ideas that make society work.

He added, “If I’m the president of this country, I will do everything possible to make opposition parties strong and participatory in governance.

“The more you bring everybody together, the more we discuss it, the more we consult, the better result.”

Meanwhile, Peter Obi has supported the position of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, that President Tinubu has made efforts to address Nigeria’s security challenges.

Obi, however, argued that the President’s best had not produced the level of security Nigerians deserved, adding that Tinubu should leave office and “go home and rest.”

Peter Obi was responding to a question on why Nigerians should support his presidential ambition rather than another opposition candidate.

Obi urged voters to assess his performance in previous public offices and compare it with the policies and proposals he was presenting ahead of the election.
