Nigerian film actors Segun Arinze and Jerry Amilo have reacted after a new wave of concern about the health and mental state of actor Hanks Anuku spread online.

Naija News reports that the concern started after a video surfaced on Saturday, June 27, 2026, showing Hanks Anuku lying on a road in Wuse 2, Abuja.

In the clip, he appeared to be talking to himself while holding a disposable cup, which led to reactions from social media users.

Many people expressed worry about his condition, while others suggested he may have been under the influence of alcohol.

After the video went viral, Segun Arinze reacted on social media, stating that the clip being shared was not recent but an old recording.

Arinze wrote, “This is a very old video oo.”

Jerry Amilo also responded, backing the same claim and calling on the public to stop spreading what he described as harmful and misleading content about the actor.

He wrote, “PLEASE THIS IS AN OLD VIDEO. STOP SPREADING EVIL NEWS AND WISHES.”

Recall that in November 2023, Hanks Anuku had spoken about his struggles with depression and linked his drinking habits to his personal challenges at the time.

The movie star claimed that some of his colleagues resorted to blackmailing him due to jealousy.
