A Pastor Tried To Help Alex Ekubo But Was Blocked – Victoria Inyama
Popular Nigerian actress Victoria Inyama has reacted to a public statement from the family of late actor Alex Ekubo, putting forward new claims about what happened during his illness and treatment period.
Naija News reports that she responded after a post made by a family member identified as David Ekubo, saying she understood the pressure and difficulty involved in speaking out on the matter.
Victoria said that during Alex’s illness, a well-known Nigerian pastor allegedly tried to step in and assist with medical funding.
According to her, the attempt was not allowed because those close to Alex kept insisting that he was fine.
Inyama also claimed that the pastor made several efforts to gain access and offer help but was turned away repeatedly.
The actress added that the cleric only learned about the situation after Alex had already died.
Victoria further stated that the pastor was not offering spiritual intervention but was ready to cover medical costs anywhere in the world, insisting that better treatment options existed that could have been explored.
She wrote on her Instagram page: “@davidekubo I know how difficult it was for you to come here….I know how far you went for a dialogue……this may not be the best but that’s fine……..without mentioning names….one of the biggest/ Kindest Pastor in Nigeria tried to help but was always told by Her that Alex is Fine!……
“D Pastor [redacted] pushed to get access but was always blocked…..If that Pastor was allowed access, whatever it would cost in this world, we would have all rallied round Abroad……. The Pastor was Not even told when Alewas in hospital, he was only called when Alex died….bear in mind that the Pastor was not offering ‘miracle ‘ he is very Practical and was ready to foot any medical bill any where in the world…..any genuine mother would accept help to try anything and everything……that’s the part that hurts me……cancer has multiple treatment options these days but it’s all good. Nnam biko just remember Dède is very vulnerable now 😭.”
Her comments came shortly after Alex Ekubo’s family accused his stepmother of blocking access to him during his illness and only reaching out after his death.
