APC Wins Oyebanji’s Polling Unit In Ekiti Gov Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the polling unit of its governorship candidate and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, in Saturday’s governorship election.

Results announced at Polling Unit 003, Ward 06, Okelele, Ikogosi Ekiti, showed that the APC polled 326 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured two votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and the African Action Congress (AAC) each secured one vote.

Three votes were declared void.

Oyebanji, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the APC, had earlier voted at the polling unit alongside his wife, Olayemi, at about 11:38 am.

Speaking after casting his ballot, the governor expressed confidence that the APC would surpass its target of 500,000 votes in the election.

He also commended the turnout of voters and urged residents to remain patient with the Independent National Electoral Commission over reported technical glitches.

Oyebanji said he was confident that no eligible voter would be disenfranchised.
