Gov. Makinde Visits Adelabu Over Kidnap Of Relatives (Video)
The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, on Friday, visited former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, at his residence in Ibadan, the state capital.
Naija News understands that the visit is in connection with the recent abduction of some relatives of the former Minister.
In the video, Governor Makinde was heard sympathizing with Adelabu.
He said, “My brother, sorry, sorry.”
During the visit, Governor Makinde expressed concern over the incident and reassured the family that efforts were ongoing to secure the release of the kidnapped victims.
“We share in your pain at this difficult time.
“I want to assure you that the government and security agencies are doing everything possible to ensure the safe return of your sister and her children,” he said.
The Governor also assured that security agencies were working relentlessly to rescue the abductees and apprehend the perpetrators.
“Our security agencies are on the matter, and we remain committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice,” he added.

Recall that earlier in the week, gunmen kidnapped the immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu’s sister and her twin sons.
Media aide to the former minister, Femi Awogboro, disclosed this in a statement.
Naija News reports that Adelabu is currently an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for the 2027 election.
According to the statement, Adelabu’s sister, Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, alongside her twin sons, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped in the early hours of Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
The unfortunate incident occurred while John-Paul was on her way to drop her children at school.
“The family of Chief Adebayo Adelabu, former Minister of Power and leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress APC) in Oyo State, wishes to formally confirm the unfortunate kidnapping of his younger sister, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, alongside her twin sons, Peter and Paul, in the early hours of Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
“Mrs. John-Paul, aged 43, was reportedly abducted by armed gunmen at about 7:30 a.m. while on her way to drop her children at school in Ibadan. The abductors also forcefully took away her 12-year-old twin sons who were with her at the time of the incident,” the statement read in part.
