Video Emerges From Scene Of Reported Abduction Of Adelabu’s Relatives In Ibadan
A viral video has surfaced online showing the scene where the sister of the immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin children were reportedly kidnapped in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The victims, identified as Laide and her twin children, Peter and Paul, were said to have been abducted on Wednesday morning at Elewura, in the Challenge area of Ibadan.
In the video, residents were seen gathered around the area where the incident reportedly occurred, with many expressing concern over the growing insecurity in parts of the state.
According to Vanguard, one of Adelabu’s media aides, Femi Awogboro, had earlier confirmed the incident, saying, “Adelabu’s junior brother’s wife, Laide, together with her twins, Peter and Paul, was kidnapped this morning by unknown gunmen at Elewura, Challenge, Ibadan.”
He added, “The family were going out this morning from Elewura to link the express when they were attacked and whisked away by the unknown kidnappers.”
The incident has sparked fresh anxiety among residents of Ibadan, coming amid rising concerns over kidnapping and violent attacks in Oyo State.
The State command of the Nigeria Police Force has yet to issue any official statement regarding the development as of the time of filing this report.
