Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal Named LaLiga Player Of The Season
Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has been crowned LaLiga Player of the Season for 2025/26 after playing a decisive role in the club’s march to the Spanish title.
The award was confirmed earlier today, June 5, with Barcelona hailing it as “another award for the talent of Lamine Yamal” following a campaign that further cemented his status as one of world football’s brightest young stars.
At just 18, Yamal delivered his most productive league season yet under coach Hansi Flick. The winger scored 16 goals and supplied 11 assists as Barcelona secured the LaLiga crown.
“The La Masia forward’s wizardry is evident. Every match he brought dribbling, goals and assists,” the club said in a statement on their website.
LaLiga’s recognition caps a remarkable year for the Spain international, whose blend of pace, creativity and end product made him one of the division’s standout performers. Whether unlocking defences with a pass or creating danger through his dribbling, Yamal remained a constant threat from the opening weekend to the final round of fixtures.
His 16-goal haul marked the highest league tally of his career and earned him a share of the Zarra Trophy alongside Barcelona teammate Ferran Torres.
Barcelona’s dominance was also reflected in the individual awards. Flick was named Coach of the Season, while goalkeeper Joan Garcia claimed the Save of the Season prize.
Yamal’s latest accolade means Barcelona players have now won the league’s top individual honour in consecutive years, following Raphinha, who received the award last season.
