Yenagoa To Host NFF Extraordinary General Assembly On Monday

Yenagoa will take centre stage on Monday as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) holds its 2026 Extraordinary General Assembly in the Bayelsa State capital.

Proceedings will take place at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall inside Government House, where Governor Douye Diri is scheduled to declare the meeting open.

Top figures in Nigerian sport and politics are expected in attendance. They include National Sports Commission chairman Shehu Dikko, Director General Bukola Olopade, Senate Committee on Sports chairman Abdul Ningi and House Committee on Sports chairman Kabiru Amadu.

The gathering will bring together chairmen and secretaries of football associations from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Members of the NFF executive committee and management will also be present, alongside representatives of the various leagues, the Coaches Association, the Referees Association and the Players’ Union.

NFF president Ibrahim Musa Gusau will deliver the opening address before deliberations begin.

Key issues on the agenda include proposed amendments to the NFF Statutes, the Electoral Code, and the Standing Orders that guide the General Assembly. Congress will also appoint members of the NFF Electoral Committee and the Electoral Appeals Committee, and

name an independent auditor.

Observers from FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) are already in the country to monitor the proceedings.
