95 Princes, Princesses, Indicate Interest To Become Next Awujale
A total of 95 princes and princesses from the Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ogun State have indicated interest in emerging as the next Awujale of Ijebuland.
This figure was revealed on Monday by the Olori Ebi of Fusengbuwa Ruling House who is also Otunba Jadiara, Lateef Owoyemi at the commencement of Nomination Meeting of the held at Bisi Rodipe Hall, GRA , Ijebu Ode.
According to him, the names of those who scaled the first hurdle would be forwarded to the Afobajes while, the Afobajes would pick one of the candidates as the next Awujale and forward his name to the Ogun State Government.
Owoyemi added that those in disagreement with the exercise can channel their grievances to the government.
Naija News understands that other leaders of the Ruling House at the meeting included Deputy Olori Ebi, Otunba Ajidagba, Chairman, Chief Fassy Yusuf, among others.
Meanwhile, popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, better known as K1 De Ultimate or KWAM1, has withdrawn the suit filed before an Ogun State High Court in Ijebu-Ode, seeking an interlocutory injunction to stop the installation process of the next Awujale of Ijebuland.
The singer announced the withdrawal in a notice of discontinuance signed by his lawyer, Wahab Shittu (SAN).
The lawyer said his client has withdrawn the case and asked the court to discontinue the matter initiated to stop the process for choosing the next Awujale of Ijebuland.
Recall the late Awujale, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, passed away at 91 on July 13, 2025, after a 65-year reign.
