Osimhen Wants Lookman At Galatasaray, But Price Could Ruin Move

Galatasaray’s hopes of pairing Victor Osimhen with his Super Eagles teammate Ademola Lookman may not come to life anytime soon due to the financial aspects of the deal.

According to Galatasaray insider Ali Naci Küçük, the Turkish champions are not willing to meet Atalanta’s demands or Lookman’s wage expectations.

“A transfer for Ademola Lookman is out of the question. Atalanta’s asking price for Lookman is €60 million,” Küçük said on SkySport’s YouTube channel, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.

“The player’s asking price is €9 million per year. Galatasaray paid those prices for Victor Osimhen.”

Lookman, who has had a rocky spell at Atalanta following a failed move to Inter Milan, has been linked with an exit for months.

Italian reports claim Osimhen has personally tried to convince his compatriot to join him in Istanbul. According to Foot Africa, the former Napoli star called Lookman and told him, “Come to Galatasaray and be happy here!”

The winger was briefly frozen out of the Atalanta squad in the summer after a fallout with the club’s management. He was eventually brought back, coming on for a few minutes in a 3-0 win over Torino before earning a Champions League start against Club Brugge.

This week, he finally broke his scoring drought, finding the net in Atalanta’s Serie A clash with AC Milan. In the 35th minute, Lookman smashed a fine shot into the top corner after a clever pass from Mario Pašalić, cancelling out Samuele Ricci’s early goal for Milan.

That strike was his first of the season in seven matches, a far cry from last season’s blistering form when he scored 15 goals and added five assists in Serie A, plus another five goals and two assists in the Champions League.
