Former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Affairs, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has called on the federal government to intensify the onslaught against bandits and Boko Haram group in the North East.

Baba-Ahmed condemned the rising attacks of Boko Haram on civilian communities and military formations in Borno State.

Naija News reported that Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State slept in Marta, a frontline community to show solidarity to residents of the community on Sunday.

Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) had launched a series of attacks on residents of the state.

Baba-Ahmed commended Governor Zulum for taking decisive action.

On his 𝕏 handle on Monday, the former spokesman of Northern Elders Forum (NEF) urged the federal government to pay attention to rising insecurity in Borno and Yobe State.

He emphasized that the government must not allow Boko Haram and other insurgent groups to take control of any North East community.

He further called on other stakeholders from the region to raise their voices to ensure the government intervenes the the region’s rising insecurity.

The nation should pay attention to Borno/ Yobe States and the heroic role of Gov Zulum in inviting attention to the plight of citizens there and their welfare. Whatever it takes, we must not lose more ground to terrorists in the NE. Lets raise our voices so Abuja can hear us,” he wrote.
