Vice President Kashim Shettima has emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to advancing the comprehensive development of the Niger Delta and other regions throughout the country.

Shettima’s statement was quoted in a release issued on Wednesday by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President.

Acting as Tinubu’s representative at the grand finale of the All Progressives Congress governorship rally in Bayelsa State, Shettima underlined the state’s significance within the vision and development agenda of the Tinubu-led administration.

He pointed out that meticulous plans for enhancing infrastructure, technological progress, education, and the sustainable utilization of the region’s abundant resources had been devised and are gradually being implemented.

Mr Shettima said, “My principal, our President, is a man filled with vision, willpower and total commitment to the Nigerian project. He is unwavering and in a rush to ensure speedy development of the Niger Delta and all other parts of the country. What we owe him is our support and loyalty for him to succeed. This is the reason why all Bayelsans must come out on Saturday and rally round our party and candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva.

“Sylva is your own and known for his tenacity for excellence. It is high time the people of Bayelsa State joined the government at the centre. The opportunity is here, and the time is now.”

Furthermore, the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, lauded Sylva as a highly-skilled technocrat and a committed politician with a mission to transform and redefine the political, economic, and developmental landscape of the state.

In response, Sylva articulated that his carefully crafted plan was geared towards comprehensively rejuvenating Bayelsa, drawing from his distinguished track record of excellence and unwavering dedication to public service.

He made a commitment to ensure the transparent and accountable utilization of the state’s resources if elected, assuring that every part of the state would undergo a transformation beyond what was previously envisioned.

Sylva also guaranteed that the active participation of indigenous people and communities in governance would be strongly encouraged.

The vice-president was warmly received upon his arrival in the state by Governor Douye Diri and several members of the Bayelsa Executive Council.

Accompanied by Sylva, Shettima paid a visit to the Chairman of the Bayelsa Traditional Rulers’ Council and the Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom in Yenagoa Local Government Area, King Bubaraye Dakolo, as a mark of respect.

The vice-president’s entourage included the APC National Secretary, Senator Jibola Bashiru; Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe; Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State; and the APC Deputy National Chairman, Alhaji Bukar Dalori. Additionally, the Minister of Transportation, Saidu Alkali, and former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, were also part of the delegation.
