APC Reacts As Oppostion Knocks US Secretary Of State For Calling Tinubu

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday released a statement in response to the press conference held by the candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, at the just concluded Presidential election.

Naija News had earlier reported that Peter Obi addressed a world press conference on Monday where he accused the Supreme Court of breaching the trust that Nigerians have in the judiciary following its ruling that upheld the election of President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.

In  the statement signed by the party’s national publicity secretary Felix Morka, the party  welcomed Obi’s decision to actively engage in opposition politics, urging him to be mature and constructive with his criticism.

The APC argued that Obi’s attack on the Supreme Court despite benefiting from its decision in the past was an indication of his vainness and arrogance.

“As someone who has previously benefited from the ruling of the Supreme Court on electoral matters, Obi’s acerbic attack on the judiciary  only belies his arrogance and vainness. When the same court previously decided in his favour, the court were beacons of democracy, now that the decisions are against him, all of a sudden the court have betrayed democracy,” statement by the APC read.

Recall that the Supreme COurt in October struck out petitions brought forward by Peter Obi and the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar against the election of President Tinubu.
