Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has invited potential investors to come and take advantage of numerous opportunities available to them in the state.

The governor made the call while boasting about his government’s determination to build more quality roads across Abia in a bid to enhance trade and commercial activities in the state.

Naija News understands that Otti spoke yesterday during the inauguration of the MCC/Old Express Road in Aba.

The governor emphasized that his administration viewed the construction of high-quality roads as essential not only for enhancing vehicular flow but also for fostering a conducive environment for businesses to flourish. He revealed that the government had granted contracts for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of several roads that were important to economic development.

“We cannot drive the kind of economic rejuvenation that we seek if our most important roads are in bad shape,” Otti said.

According to Otti, the reconstructed road was a testament that the government had begun a holistic restoration of Aba and the state at large.

He said: “Aba is open for business” and called on potential investors to take advantage of the numerous opportunities that abound in the state.

“Our motivation in government is to create the right environment for individuals to live out the full expression of their dreams.

“We are also interested in supporting the growth of enterprises and setting up a safe haven for legitimately profitable and sustainable investments.”

In addition, Otti reiterated the government’s dedication to developing initiatives and strategies that would enable the establishment of optimal investment routes and collaborations, thereby fostering improved public service delivery.

Moreover, he emphasized that the government had implemented measures to effectively tackle the persistent problem of recurrent flooding in Aba. The governor revealed that contracts had been granted for the reconstruction of economically significant roads within the local government regions.

“We are working very hard to reconstruct several other roads in about nine LGAs through a special multilateral funding arrangement that gives the state a pathway to fix roads to boost agriculture productivity and produce marketing,” he added.

In his remark, the President of the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Chief Jerry Kalu, commended the government for its efforts towards rebuilding Abia.

Kalu said that the rebuilding agenda of the present administration would go a long way in boosting socio-economic growth in the state.

Earlier, the Director of China Civil Engineering Construction Company, Eric Shen, expressed gratitude to the state government and the host community for the successful completion of the road project.

According to Shen, the road was built with the highest standards of engineering design and specifications, ensuring its durability.

He emphasized that the road plays a crucial role in promoting socio-economic development and will significantly enhance the quality of life for the residents.

In a related development, Mr Otumchere Oti, the Commissioner for Works, highlighted the administration’s commitment to improving the state’s road network and infrastructure.

Oti emphasized that the MCC Old Express, Udeagbala, and Umuimo Roads in Aba were reconstructed with the best specifications in road construction, including street lights and drainages.

He urged the residents to refrain from activities that could damage the roads and compromise their functionality.

Furthermore, the governor officially inaugurated the Udeagbala and Umuimo roads.
