Tinubu Govt Gives N214 Thousand To Each Rescued Zamfara Students

The Federal Government has given N214,285 cash to each of the 14 rescued female students of the Federal University Gusau (FUG).

The state Commissioner for Humanitarian and Relief Matters, Salisu Musa, made this known in a statement issued by the spokesman of the ministry, Bashir Kabir, on Wednesday in Gusau, the state capital.

Musa said the monetary assistance was presented to the victims through the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, who was on a visit to the state.

The Commissioner said the Zamfara Government appreciated the gesture and applauded President Bola Tinubu and the minister for the kind assistance to the students.

He said: “Each of the 14 students received a token of N214,285 cash from the Federal Government.

“On behalf of the Zamfara Government, We appreciate the gesture and the Honourable Minister Dr Betta Edu, for the kind assistance to the students.”

He expressed the commitment of the state government towards collaborating with the Federal Government in salvaging the plight of victims of the humanitarian crisis in the state.

The Commissioner appreciated the management of the university and the parents of the victims for their patience, understanding, support and cooperation during the sad moment.
