BREAKING: PDP Governors To Meet Wike Over Rivers Crisis

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will meet with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over the crisis rocking Rivers State.

The Director General of the PDP Governors Forum, CID Maduabum, made this known in a statement on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

According to Maduabum, the decision to pay Wike a visit was reached at the Governors’ last meeting in Abuja on Tuesday night.

Maduabum stated that the PDP governors will meet with Wike today, Wednesday, November 1, at his office in Abuja, over the move to impeach Governor Siminlay Fubara of Rivers State.

He added that the proposed meeting is geared towards reconciliation and mediation between the FCT minister and his successor.

Tinubu Intervenes In Rivers Crisis, Meets Fubara, Wike In Aso Rock

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has intervened in the political crisis rocking Rivers State.

The Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, made this known while addressing State House correspondents.

Speaking after the maiden Nigeria Police Council (NPC) meeting under the Tinubu administration on Tuesday, Mohammed said Tinubu has met with the parties involved.

The Bauchi governor said President Tinubu also engaged in discussions with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to restore peace in the state.

Mohammed said: “He (President Tinubu) has shown that he is President of PDP and APC. We are going to work with him.

It was earlier reported that Governor Fubara and his predecessor met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday morning ahead of the NPC meeting.
