Leader of the House of Assembly, Ehie Edison, an ally of the Governor, was summarily removed.

Subsequently, all local government chairpersons were reportedly removed, and the state executive dissolved.

The chief judge of the state, Chibuzor Amade, was also suspended by members of the Assembly loyal to Fubara.
